Playing from the whites is not cheating, and if you are shooting in the 90's those are the right tees for you.

That is what's great about this game, the challenge to break a level. You'll get there and it will be a great feeling. I went through the same thing for years trying to break 80 for the first time. Chili dipped a wedge on 18, had a putt lip out on 18 another time. Double bogeyed the last 2 holes another. You get the idea. It was frustrating. But like when the Red Sox finally won it all, it made it that much sweeter when it finally happened.
I had the same issues trying to break 80. I'd have great rounds going and couldn't get to the barn. When I finally did it, it was in a big match where I was really focused on one shot at a time. I didn't even know that I shot 78 until I was done. I do it 4-5 times a season now. I just had to get past that barrier.
