Might be a strange coincidence but my pro was telling me he had the same problem with a guy. Drives were going about 180-200 low and left when the pro looked at the driver there was a tiny crack where the sole meets the face plate, which was leading to a loss of compression.

Might be worth trying to hit the same driver in store and see what happens !!!
