Very cool to read that and learn more about the courses! I can't wait to get there and get this incredible event started!
Thanks again to everybody that has been a part of this process....Moira Dunn & Kris Tamilus for their parts in judging and selecting videos that couldn't have been easy. Freddie Kong, you have been a rockstar from the minute this event was announced, one of the real tragedies of the event will be that you can't be there to allow us to properly thank you for everything you have done to make this event work....you truly are an amazing person and I am honored to call you my friend. All the others that are volunteering their time and money to travel to this event to help out...you guys are frigging awesome...I don't want to start naming names because I know I will leave people out and I don't want to slight anyone...so just understand if you are one of these wonderful volunteers....Thank you very much! Caledonia Golf & Fish Club and True Blue Resort - The venue looks stunning and they have been great to work with and I can't wait to play these amazing golf courses. All of the great OEMs that are participating....Callaway Golf & Odyssey Putters for the 2nd year in a row, Bridgestone along with Ecco, Antiqua and Bertinardi and Cleveland/Srixon Golf along with Never Compromise....each of them have been incredible to work with and have done an amazing job making 24 ordinary guys feel like PGA tour players, it's a dream come true for us and we will never forget you for it. The 23 other Morgan Cup staffers, it continues to be an honor to work along side of you as we move closer to this extraordinary event, I can honestly say that I feel a very special bond with each and everyone of you and I look forward to getting to know you all much better in Myrtle Beach. Both Ben's......Breezy and The Annilahator.....I know you guys work alot of hours and volunteer alot of time to make sure the technical end of this event goes off and I tip my hat to you. And of course, Josh and Morgan. Without you guys none of this is possible! I can only imagine the countless number of hours that the 2 of you have dedicated to this incredible event! To say that you are amazing would be an understatement, it took tremendous vision and courage to dream up an event like this; but to actually pull it off and get some of the biggest companies in golf to buy into your vision and turn it into a reality is nothing sort of a miracle. You two are the real "effin rockstars" and we all owe you a tremendous amount of gratitude! No words can ever describe how incredibly honored I feel to have been chosen to participate in this event, as it grows closer and closer I find myself just walking out to the garage and looking at the amazing staff bag full of equipment and thinking just how fortunate I am to be involved in something of this magnatude and to represent each and every member of this amazing place in the "Ultimate Amatuer Golf Expirience". If I have left anyone out, I truly apologize...I had a vision of how this was going to read as I started it, but as I typed so many different emotions came over me. So if I left anyone out, I am sorry and thank you as well. This has truly been an amazing ride, and the best is yet to come! |

Three Teams of Amateur Golfers Will Compete in Match Play Tournament With Different Formats Hosted bywww.thehackersparadise.com
July 10, Pawleys Island, S.C. - Three teams of eight amateur golfers each will compete in the second annual Morgan Cup July 28-29 at Caledonia Golf and Fish Club and True Blue Plantation. The team match-play tournament is scheduled to be conducted over three rounds, two on True Blue and one at Caledonia. Each round will be contested in a different format, including singles, two-man scramble and better ball of partners. The teams were chosen through www.thehackersparadise.com , an interactive exchange forum covering a wide range of golf topics. Contestants were chosen from video submissions. Three different golf equipment manufacturers are sponsoring the players: Bridgestone Golf, Callaway Golf and Cleveland/Srixon Golf. Golfers participating represent 12 states and two foreign countries: Canada and Ireland. "The Morgan Cup is the ultimate Tour experience an amateur can have," said Morgan Babbitt, tournament director. "Our generous equipment sponsors will supply a full 14-club deal, including personalized staff bags and apparel, so the golfers will feel like they are marquis Tour players." Caledonia and True Blue are two of the courses that comprise the Waccamaw Golf Trail (12 courses) in the southern part of the Grand Strand. For more information on the Waccamaw Golf Trail, visit www.waccamawgolftrail.com . About Caledonia Golf & Fish Club Built upon the site of a historic 18th century rice plantation in Pawleys Island, S.C., Caledonia Golf & Fish Club has been described as having 18 signature holes, with holes routed around majestic oaks and meandering streams. The picturesque 18th borders the Plantation's old ricefield and requires a precise tee shot that sets up a difficult second shot: a forced carry onto a green that is watched closely by the beautiful antebellum style clubhouse. The 6,526-yard, par-70 course has been named one of Golf Digest's "Top 25 Courses in South Carolina" and "America's 100 Greatest Public Courses;" a "Top 100 You Can Play" by Golf Magazine; a "Top 100 Modern Courses" and "Best Resort Courses" by Golfweek, South Carolina Golf Course Ratings Panel's list of "50 Best Courses" and "Top 100 Best Courses for Women" by Golf for Women. For more information on Caledonia or True Blue, visit www.FishClub.com . About True Blue Golf Plantation True Blue Golf Plantation, 7,126 yards, par 72 is located on the site of the historic True Blue Plantation, a famed 19th century indigo and rice plantation. True Blue has received countless awards, including being named one of "America's Greatest 100 Public Golf Courses" by Golf Digest. It also is one of the South Carolina Golf Course Raters' list of "50 Best Courses." And it is one of Golf Magazine's "Top Ten Places To Play" and "Top 25 Courses in the South."
