Well today was definitely a tale of two 9's. The front 9 I used my Razr X Black 5 iron off every tee and on the back 9 I used my Razr X 3 hybrid. After the front 9 I taught to myself here we go it has finally clicked. 2 over at the turn and very happy with how I was playing, I even taught here we go I could break 80 for the first time here. Needless to say the back 9 was sole distroying 4 over thru 10 and 11. Managed to get things back on track a bit but not enough to save my chances at 80.
The greens had been sanded and brushed just as we arrived at the course but that's not really an excuse for having 34 putts in a round. All in all the "iron only" round was fun, it made me choose shots I normally wouldn't think about. As in on par 5's and 4's I was thinking more about my second shots needing to be full shots to get my to the green. I feel i'm a lot more comfortable with my irons now. Has my course management changed ?? not a whole pile but I found myself thinking more about my position off the tee so I had the shortest line to the green, something again I wouldn't think aboout when playing my woods. Here is what my card looks like: ![]() |
