All it takes is one person to have the idea and bring it up and see if it sticks. Maybe try to organize a themed get together in your area and see what the response is to that.

During the annaul Scottish games in March here each year they do a Kilted golf tournament at an old 1925 Donald Ross course in town. I've always wanted to play in it. I think it would be a blast - and I have Scottish heritage way back, so I could play in it without being ironic.
