Default Summer Solstice Golf
With today being the summer solstice and the longest day of the year who's playing? I brought my clubs to work and I am going to play 18 after work, probabaly finishing near 9:00pm. I love the long days but it's depressing to think that the days start getting shorter after today.

I'm annoyed that I'm at work today when it's the solstice. A local course around here was having a charity tournament where they were going to play 54 holes today, I'd love to do that next year.

Also, Bandon Dunes has people out there playing all 72 holes (the 4 big courses) today, that would be an awesome experience.

I'm playing tonight. We have a 5:30pm shotgun for league then we'll get out for 9 more afterwards. Going to play until we can't see the balls anymore, should be fun.

Not me. No golf until at least Sunday for me.

It doesn't seem right that the days are going to be getting shorter starting tomorrow.

Kind of an ugly overcast day here, so won't much seem like a longer day. Working 2 to 10:30 or later shift means very little sleep if I get up early for a round, but may try tomorrow.

Beautiful 94 degree day here but won't get out today. Going Friday for 18. I too hate that the days start getting shorter

Last Solstice I played 36 holes in one day! It was my teammates we had early practice at 10 but it got cut short due to coach having to leave 30 minutes into practice, these were optional practices in the summer, so we figured lets go play 18, it was deserted due to a weekday. We finished the first 18 around 4:30 and grabbed a twix bar and an Arnold Palmer for me and headed into the next 18, I got through the front 9 and since I was playing considerably better playing from the tips, whereas the first 18 We played whites. I was all adrenaline till the 17th hole. I ran out of gas, and it started to get dark. luckily we got in though. went bogey par last two holes. I went 93 for the first 18 and 65 from the blues! for the second. My legs were shot though. I couldnt play for the better part of two weeks.

I'm probably not playing tonight. But I plan on spending some time on the range to work on things from my lesson last night. It also could be one of those nights that I play 4 or 5 holes and work on some things.

I still have school A week from tomorrow I'm freeeee! I really don't care that it's the solstice. I'll have like 40 36+ hole days this summer so today is nothing special. It won't even seem like the days are getting shorter for quite some time. A lot of the time added to the day is in the morning when most are still sleeping anyway.

One nice thing about Winnipeg is that this time of year the sun doesn't set until almost 10. No golf for me today but hopefully lots over the next week.

I think I'll go out to the range late this afternoon, once the sun starts moving down and it's not quite so ludicrously warm out.

That is seriously awesome. It would be fun to try something like that out.
