Aren't the rules committee discussing the anchoring of any club, not outlawing a particular club. I know it comes down to the same thing but there are players that use the belly putter but don't anchor it. I think it's Bill Haas that lays it against his left forearm.

Kuchar lays it against his forearm as well.

That may be who I was thinking of. I know there is one play that didn't anchor his putter.

I think they'd all take a hit since they are used to the belly putter. I'm giving mine up for now though. Just not comfortable with it. But I don't think they'll ban them.

I don't really see what the issue is, its not like the only people winning are using belly putters. How long have people been using them and when did it become such a big issue?

Just throwing it out there after a pretty heated debate on the course over the weekend. Big argument as to whether putters should be restricted in length to outlaw belly, chest, chin putters etc. Say to 3 feet etc. Any thoughts?

it doesn't help people to win so who cares if they want to use it or not. Who was the last PGA pro that won with one? Bill Haas? Carl Petterson? Matt Kuchar? Out of all the winners this year? 3 out of 20 tournaments?

well one of the arguments I have heard thrown out there is that with these longer putters the putter is no longer "swung" but not entirely sure if you could make a rule from that or whether that is even important.
