Wow, that should be quite the round. I played a small par 3 course with my dad the other month actually, and we hadn't played it for a while, probably a few years at least. It was nice to play with him as he has back problems and we never golf anymore, but I really hope you enjoy your round. Go low ![]() All in all a great round and some great stories to come back to as well. Thanks for sharing ![]() |

Nostalgia, I used to love it, but it's not what it used to be.
I tried going back to playing the old public course I played when I was just starting out. Turns out it really is rubbish. I don't really have any courses with sentimental value, but I like your story and I hope you really enjoy the day. |

I will be traveling this weekend which will give me the chance to play a par 3 course that I used to play with my father. It has been over a decade since I last played it and will be a bitter sweet moment since this weekend marks the second aniversary of my dad's passing. |

I played Windmill in Clark, MO last week with my Dad and some friends. It's a little country 9 hole about 10 minutes north of us. This was the first time Dad and I had played that course together, since the first time he took me out when I was 12. True story. I had never touched a club the day he took me out for my first time that day. He rented some clubs for me and we went over to the driving range. 10 balls into the small bucket, he said, "Jeff, you are hitting the ball further than Kenny (his boss)". I was hooked from there on out. We played nine holes, broke a pitching wedge (it got ran over, I wasn't yet schooled in where to place your clubs, lol), and from my recollection, had a good time.

I am curious if anyone here has gone back to a course after years or even decades of not seeing it and what they found new, changed or just their feelings in general. |
