Default Favorite Android GPS App?
What is everyone's favorite ANDROID GPS app? Sorry I'm anti Apple.

I use Golf Frontier and SkyDroid.

I got Golf Frontier paid version for free and like it. It keeps scores and figures handicap but have not really used that too much. The distances seem fairly close on the courses I used it on. One problem I ran into was one course I tried to use the score card and it was way off.

SkyDroid was like $1.99. I have not used it for a while. I will try it next time and report back.

Golfshot .... Even though theyre pro iPhone and anti-android
The iPhone update has yet to be changed to android
September I emailed them asking when will the iPhone update be ready for Android , at December they replied saying it will happen soon, still hasn't happened.

Even through this its still a great ,accurate app , stats are pretty cool

worth getting the free one until they do that essential update

Seems like a nice app. $29.99 seems a little high.

Skydroid is my favorite, really nice app. I have a tough time time getting the battery to hold up a full 18 though since it doesn't have a built in power-save mode mode like a few of the others i've tried.

I like skydroid also, but the battery drain was too much. Couldn't go 18 without starting with a full charge.

With Golf Frontier I can play 36 holes with half a battery. That is with the gps set up to update most frequently. I just am not 100% positive on the yardage all the time.

Just got the GHIN app. Love it shows all my recent scores, handicap and can adjust by slope.

GHIN is just for scores correct?

gives you your handicap and your USGA handicap index. Must have a GHIN number to transfer your scores from you home club.

I use the $1.99 version of SkyDroid and I can get about 36 holes in on my battery before it dies. I check it against my Leupold and I feel it to be very accurate. I have a second battery so I can just carry it with me if I expect to play that many holes and don't want to be without my phone.

I use the FreeCaddie Android app, it's simple and does not burn batteries like others.
You sacrifice pretty graphics, but the battery life makes up for it.

Free Caddie, simple interface and doesn't kill the battery.

I really liked Swing by Swing but wow that one really eats the battery. It uses Google maps so it has to download every hole. Google will not let anyone cache there maps.

Swing by Swing has some great new paid options too. I think it is like $99 a year right now but you get a extra battery for you phone and you can record you swing and send it to them and a pro will review it and correspond with you. Great deal if you want to spend $100. I think the $100 is just a promo though, not sure what the regular price will be.

I am very impressed with the accuracy of SkyDroid. As other have mentioned, better have your charger waiting for you in the car cause your battery will be on its last legs.

I use golf card pro on the iPhone and they have an Android version. If its even 75% as good as the iOS version then it's worth looking into.
