Played again today. Did a bit better shooting a 49 but the score really doesn't represent how I played imo
I putted better with 18 putts for the round and had 3 pars and 3 bogies. The issue was the fact that I had 3 terrible holes where I shot 8, 7, 8 on par 4's

Got 4 out of 9 points which I'm happy with

Default Just played my first league round today
It's a 9 hole league. Didn't play all that well to be honest. I shot a 51 (par is 37) winning 2 holes and tying one.

I think nerves got to me a little bit since my putting was bad. I average just under 2 putts a hole and know the greens really well but today I averaged 2.56 putts and had 4 three putts and a four putt!

Hopefully my putting will improve as I get more used to playing in the league and my scores will come down.

Was interesting for sure since I'm not used to playing rounds that have any pressure so it's a good experience for sure.

I felt really nervous the first few mens leagues I played. Hit balls everywhere and putted horrible as well. After a couple times the "newness" will wear off and you'll settle into your own game. Our 9 hole men's league is a team scramble format which makes it less reliable on one person so that helps. But it still bites when I pull/slice one into the woods lol

Keep it up and let us know how the next one goes!

I was actually hitting the ball off the tee really well (well not great with my driver, they were about 20 yards shorter than normal since I was hitting the ball really high for some reason) except for one par 3 where I skulled the ball pretty bad. I had one three wood shot off the tee that I hit perfectly which helped me make my only par of the round. A couple of bad second shots but for the most part I was pretty good hitting the ball but my putting and chipping really let me down.

Next time out is next tuesday and it's on the easiest of the 3 nines so hopefully I can do a little bit better.

I'll just have to hit every GIR and put it close to the pin and I'll be fine

Don't worry about it RenRen. Get the first one out of the way and now kick some a$$. I played a men's league a few years back as a sub first time I played I ripped a driver and had a six iron into a par 5 hit to the middle of the green and continued to four putt. Stay to your game and you will get more comfortable

i play in a league on tuesday nights and it's a blast. our team has won back to back championships the last two years...(i've played in the league for 3 years) and the first season was awful. i used to feel nervous about it since you're 'thrown into the fire' from the first tee. after the first couple weeks, or after your first win you'll be fine...find a place to chip/putt before the round and use it as a chance to challenge yourself to get ready for the round, ie drop a few off the side of the green and try to get up and down in 2, hit lag putts to within a foot or so, etc.

Should be a good time ! I would say a 4 putt probably is a good on indication of nerves. You'll be fine
