Default Golf Brand Pants vs. Regular Dress Pants
Do any of you guys wear a pair of "golf brand" pants?
What's the difference between from regular dress pants than golf ones?
They're so expensive at times and I don't see the major advantage buying the golf ones.

Huge differences ironically enough. Different materials would be the starter. No cotton, more stretch and give in the right places. More moisture control. All of that equals something that handles the elements and the golf swing far better.

Exactly what JB said, also they just feel better on hot summer golf days when the breeze blows you can tell. Also they usually are fitted nicely and look better too

I don't normally buy long pants to golf in, but if I did, I would make sure they aren't cotton. As long as they are comfortable, I don't see the big deal in using regular pants.

Just bought six pairs of moisture wicking golf shorts at Sam's though, for 17 bucks each.

I guess I never thought of the comfort factor. Now I think about it, when I wear my "regular" dress pants, at times I get uncomfortable which draws away from focusing on golf. I tend to shoot higher when I'm picking my wedgie constatnly.
It's just so expensive when I can buy a pair of Calvin Klein's for $20.

I got a whole lot of golf apparel last fall when it was on sale/clearance to make room for the 2012 stuff. If I were to buy golf pants, that's the time of year I'd do it as things are pretty much full price right now.

I prefer golf specific pants. Only because the bottoms seem to belittle wider and cover more of the shoe. Plus I don't want to ruin my good dress pants!

I get the Haggar dress pants with the built in stretch waist and moisture wicking fabric, just as comfortable as golf specific pants and not quite as pricey. They double up great as work pants too.

This thread made me think of The Soggy Bottom Boys from O Brother, Where Art Thou

Moisture wicking and anti-wedgie for the win

If you know where to look, you can find golf pants that aren't expensive and are pretty good quality. This time of year is a great time to look for deals because summer is coming!

For example, check out this link, pants as cheap as $15/pair: http://www.budgetgolf.com/Mens_Golf_Pants.html

No. Golf pants come in all types of fits. Check out some of the reviews on the home page and they discuss fit.

I like my pants slim. I wonder if there are golf brand pants that comes in slim fit.
Lynx (flat front, don't remember model) - HUMONGOUS in the seat and if I remember correctly very long. They were absurdly sized and I returned them.

Snake Eyes (flat front, Dry18s?) - Extremely long and if I remember correctly extra big at the waist and seat. Much better quality than the Lynx pants though, comparable to Nike/Addidas.

Ashworth (flat front, Microfiber?) - Closest to true sizing in the waist but run long (i.e., I wore a 38 waist at the time and needed 38's w/ Ashford).

Addidas (flat front Clima-Lite) - Pretty true to size all the way around, slightly more roomy in the waist (when I wore a 38 waist the 36s fit but were just barely snug), maybe half an inch off on length (the 32 length is okay but I wouldn't have cried if it were just a touch longer...I know, that's what she said). These are good pants, I have 3 pair.

Nike (flat front Dri-Fit?) - Just slightly roomier in the waist and seat than Addidas and they give you that extra half inch in length over Addidas. I haven't bought any (too expensive) but find them to be slightly more comfortable than the Addidas pants.

I second what the other person said about buying this stuff off season. Go try the stuff on now so you know what size you need for each brand then wait until they go on sale.
