Default knee flex
Can you have to much knee flex? If so why? Reason i ask is someone said to me today i should stand up more but i feel comfortable with more knee flex suppose it comes from being a goal keeper for years.

I think just as long as you maintain the knee flex and not bobbing up and down. That may be the reason why he suggested you stand up straighter with less knee flex.

Keagan Bradley has a lot knee flex IMO, but he seems to do fine.

As pointed out, if it works for you and you can maintain that position, then maybe it can work. I stand pretty tall with just a little flex but as they say, would it be easier for someone to push you over if you are standing straight up, or would it be harder if you had some knee flex? It is all about balance and maintaining your balance throughout the shot. I recommend getting some advice from a PGA teaching pro.

If you are short in stature as I am then too much can really hamper your swing space. If you are taller them you can get away with a bit more. But if it feels good then stick with it as long as you are creating width and room with your swing you'll be fine

I was about to say something similar to this. Chunkylover would be someone to talk to, you might want to send him a PM. He is also.....smaller in vertical abilities and his latest lessons are getting to him be a little taller in his legs and not bend from the knees as much.

I clock in at 5'7" and I find that slightly less flex than most suits me well.

I asked him to send me vids but I got the chunkyresponse and never got the video. I'd love to get a hold of that swing

He's tough to get ahold of, and even then you won't get the response you want for weeks.

I play with a goalie from my hockey team it's not the quite same as net minding in football but he also has an extreme amount of flex in his knees. I think our natural posture comes from past sports so as long as you don't have vertical movement and are comfortable with it don't worry about it.

Interesting little thread. Is there a thread that talks about the "dip" move that involves dipping the knees during the downswing? Looked and couldn't find one.

Have not seen one but that right knee should be moving toward the golf ball
On the down swing

The guy that told me was a pro. However he also was saying nice shot alot and good contact i tried standing taller but i feel unbalanced. Looking around id say i have the same knee flex as Faldo.

When I hear things like nice shot and good contact I think it starts from good posture. The hardest thing I find from having someone examine your swing is most always want to change you into a cookie cutter swing not work with your natural gifts.
