Default Can you still buy sleeves of balls?
I stopped into my local EW yesterday planning to buy some sleeves of different new balls to try this weekend only to find out that they no longer sell individual sleeves, only whole dozens, except for Titleist, which they can still break up into sleeves. So no Srixon, TM, Callaway, etc. sleeves can be had any longer. I wound up walking out with nothing and will look elsewhere instead.

Is that a trend at other stores around the country?

Interesting. I think thats ridiculous on EW's part but Im sure they have their reasoning. Im sure you can still buy them around the US and proshops will be more than glad to sell sleeves.

Most courses sell sleeves of balls, so I would check with a few courses/proshops.

Same here. My home course sells sleeves and the big stores in Indy (Golfsmith & Golf Galaxy) have sleeves, often near the front counter.

I was looking for sleeves of Chromes, but only Golfsmith had them and they were $12 a sleeve for balls that sell for $36 a dozen. So I got the dozen at the Dick's that was just a few miles a way from me.

It is lame how the gouge you on a sleeve at golf courses, etc. but I guess its the volume/price discount. the point you bring up is a really good one: how can the golf companies allow people to try a sleeve not try a dozen.

I know Golfsmith sells them by the sleeve, and Edwin Watts down here does as well. They even have the two sleeve boxes of the Bridgestone balls that the testers received.

Same with my EW. They have never had a problem with breaking a dozen up for me, but then again I am in there a good bit and give them quite a bit of business.

My course sells Titleist, Callaway, and Nike sleeves, and I'm trying to get them to order B-Stone. The prop shop at the other course always has everything in sleeves and dozens.

Hmmmm...I'm going to have to look for those. Now that the weather is nice, I'd love to pick up one of those to try both of the new varieties.

They don't just divide the price by four? That's all we did at the course I worked at.

To OP. Did you ask around for them? I know at the Golf Town here they are located near the front, which is no where near the boxed balls.

Let me know which you are looking for and I can grab one and send it up your way, if you are unable to find them.

Same here, and they only charge what they would cost as a whole dozen per ball.

I wish places by me sold sleeves individually. Only my pro shops do and they only carry Titleist. I wanted to buy one sleeve of HEX Blacks, but had to buy a whole box. I wanted to buy 4-5 sleeves of balls to compare, but I guess not.

Pro shops are the only places I can find sleeves, however my local Golfsmith has big tubs of logo overruns from all the major ball makers, so you can get individual balls to try. I know they have pro v's, calloways, and nikes for sure

Golfsmith willingly splits dozens to sell sleeves but as previously mentioned it is at greater than 25% of the dozen price. I don't mind paying a little bit more to try a new ball.
