I have a buddy that takes his Fishing pole with him sometimes when he plays golf. He was playing golf south of Dallas at Lancaster Country View Golf Course, stopped in the Fairway on number 4, a par 5 to fish for a few minutes, and caught an 8lb Bass out of the pound on that hole! The dude is a great low handicap golfer, and I am sure he broke 80 that day. Pretty cool story, played golf, and caught a nice Bass on the same afternoon!

I have a buddy I played in a foursome with late last year. He made a birdie on 18 that has just become the shot of the year. I mean the way he desrcibed it you'd think we were at Augusta and not Westchase....
bwuahahahaha......but, he did make the only birdie that day!

Played with a really annoying varsity player from a competitor last year who said that he smashed it 300 every time. I out drove him almost every hole, and that's sad because my avg driver distance is only 299..........or, in reality, about 245-50.

Did I mention I also tee of on par 4s with 8 irons so I don't hit it over the greens?
I do that.....

I shot a Hundy+ with JB, and I usually shoot in the 80's and high 70s on good days.

Default Best "Fishing" Story of your golf buddies...
Everybody has a golf buddy that blows a good shot out of proportion and tries to turn it into one of the fishing tales, where the fish gets even bigger and bigger as they tell it.

We had a guy we used to play with that swore everytime he drove the ball it would go 300 yards, but we'd always find it about 225-240. He never believed us he couldn't hit it as far as he could, and when we'd talk to people about our rounds he'd sure enough start saying he drove it around 300 all day.

What other great stories are out there?

Not much of a story, but I played with a guy who shot 120 who 'usually shoots in the mid 80's'. Just nodded my head and bit my tongue...

I had another guy I played with a few times that was the same way. He was a friend of one of the guys I frequently golf with and he came along a few times, shanks every where, hit 75% of his irons fat, at the end of every round, I can't believe I shot over 100 I always shoot low 90s high 80s. Took after his dad who said the same things and played the same way every time he came with us too.
