Lay up or go for it?
Is it the weather first? The type of round? (good or bad) Just always go for it Or is is the distance? Personally its weather first, then the type of round I'm having, then I look at the distance last. I love the feeling of being around the green in two or even on. |

I would say distance first and then the weather. I play every shot to a number, and going for it has to be a shot I can pull off nine times out of ten.
On long approach shots, if I'm going for it, I'll play to a distance to the back of the green most of the time. To hit a long shot to a front distance or even a middle of the green distance, means you have to hit a perfect shot everytime. Unless you are a tour player, you simply are not going to hit every shot perfectly, so I go with a distance for a less than perfect shot. |
