I got a net ace on a par 4 in league once. It was really an eagle, but with the handicap I had for the hole, it counted as an ace. That was good enough for me to buy the first round for my group.

I was sitting at the course bar after a round last year and somone came in and said that someone in their group had hit a hole-in-one. That person didn't come didn't want anything to do with buying drinks and there were only 3 of us in the bar area at the time.

I already have a (pretty high) dollar amount in mind to buy drinks for anyone who happens to be around when I get my first one as its long, long overdue.

I got mine in league play. No bar at the course so the league supplies beer and they only cost $1, so mine cost about $30.00
