Default My FT-9 Broke Today...
Dear Cally,

It was only one hole earlier where we crushed a 270 yard drive down the fairway only to find out that was the last ball we'll ever hit together. I don't know how or why you broke, but alas I can't seem to revive you. For a second I thought it was my swing that sent the next drive low and sliced to the right, but I tried 3 more times and for some reason you couldn't get the ball into the air. I think it was the sound that gave it away. I don't hear that sweet "tink" off your face instead I only hear a dull "clunk". I will not forget all the 270+ yard bombs and the countless sliced drives that resulted in lost balls. I will start my search for a new driver, but deep down I know we had something special. Until we see each other in the golf course in the sky... RIP...

Before you bury her or throw it away, have you tried contacting Callaway about it? That sounds like the face cracked and that's usually something they'll help you with. Then again if you don't want to go down that route, you can always send me the head and I'll give it a proper burial haha

All depends on what broke. Cracks in the face are like manufacturer defects. Not supposed to happen! If Callaway determines it broke under normal conditions and not you taking a hammer to the face or throwing it against something and damaging it, they'll usually replace it with the same model and stuff.

Can you see any damage to the club where it may have cracked?

You should absolutely contact Callaway. The worse they can say is "no."

Short answer, no. I can't visibly see any crack in the face. I think something might've cracked inside because if I shake the club I can hear a slight rattle. It's just really weird that one second I hit a drive, and the next the ball barely goes 100 yards...

My swing is bad, but not THAT bad... lol

I feel your pain. Nothing last forever though. With the driver being five or whatever years old, I would doubt there is much that can be done with it. Good luck in your search for something new!

Yes....I sold my FT9 to a friend of mine and he broke his shaft. The club sent it back to Callaway and they sent him a brand new FT11 because they didn't make the FT9's anymore. I would write them a note explaining exactly what happened (all the details) and let them decide. If you live near a Golfsmith or PGA Superstore they might send it in for free for ya. If not, worth the $7 shipping to find out.

Thanks for the advise! I'm gonna take it to Dicks or Golfsmith and see if they can help me out.
