Hitting a shot into a long par 5(getting on in two) or hitting a close wedge shot?

For me wedge shot. The feeling of knowing you hit it dead on where you aimed is always great.
For me I hit close wedge shots way more than reach a par 5 in two. so it would be the latter. Although I actually have holed out more chips than reached par 5s, holing out feels better to me than having reached in 2...
If that makes any sense.

Makes sense to me. I've never reached a Par 5 in two. But I hole chips fairly regularly. Sometimes they're for birdie, and sometimes for double bogey, but they're always a thrill.

For me, its hitting it on 2. Close, and then making a putt with my wedge.
You see, Yoccos, I don't know if your kidding or not because inside of ten feet I use my lob wedge to putt quite often. It helps me get the mental focus back when I'm not putting too well or I'm sometimes just to lazy to go back and get my putter. Either way I seem to be more successful with it inside of 10' than with an actual putter.

Tempo, timing, tapping.

For me it is hitting a wedge in close I hit the longer clubs better so I am on in 2 a lot more often than I stiff wedges, I stiff wedges about as often as I shank one.

Out of the 2 shots listed, I think getting on the green in 2 on a long par 5 is the better feeling. Here is why: On most of the courses I play, there are typically only 4 par 5's and often only 3 of those are reachable in two (and I may only go for 2 of those 3). The opportunity to hit a wedge shot close, however, occurs much more often. So, statistically speaking, hitting the par 5 in two is a better feeling for me.

Hitting a wedge shot close. It's your scoring clubs and to be able to do that is awesome. I would say making 20ft plus putts is better tho then followed by the wedge shot then hitting a par 5 in 2. My home course is a bit on the shorter end.(6325yds, Par 70) So as long as I hit a decent drive I'm at the green in 2 a lot.

Long iron approach for me. Crushing a long iron is my favorite shot in the game. I love the ball flight of a pure iron shot.
