Default Pro's clubs
The Ricky Barnes situation got me thinking about something: if a touring pro gave you a club/clubs that they had used, and the specs matched what you use, would you game it/them or just display ?

Display. I'm not a big display guy, but this is a bit different.

Guess it depends on what pro gave them to me, average Joe with no tour wins... game them. Multiple winner/Major champion... display them.

BTW, not quite the same, but a player once flipped me a tee, at The Memorial, I used it til it broke.

Display. Unless they were from Tiger - then I would use them to cheat.

If they fit my specs I would game them all day long.

Play it, its a golf club and unless signed isn't worth any more money then what you or I plays with. So trying to sell with a story does get you any where might as well enjoy the action or the club

That's because you yelled "Get in the hole" on his par 5 tee shot

I am definitly NOT that guy. Although a few years ago, Sunday afternoon, on 18, after someone sank a putt, about 4 guys in the crowd yelled "CHICKEN NUGGETS". Cracked everybody up.

I would play with them unless it was some sort of one-of-a-kind prototype club that couldn't be duplicated or purchased elsewhere. After a few years they wouldn't be worth much anyway unless it was from one of the top pro's. The model will have been updated and forgotten so I might as well get some enjoyment from it.

Semi brag:

Overton gave me a dozen prov1;s, a glove and a couple visors....I wore em all out!

But seriously, just play em. If it was like a signed driver that a tour pro used to win a major or something then you could keep it for display.

BINGO!

I feel the same way myself. I couldn't in my right mind imagine messing something up that would/could've been used for such a big event...

I'm the exact same way. If it was a big name game for a big tournament I'd display it with a plaque or something

get them changed (bent, re-shafted, etc) to my specs and play them. A club laying around that can't be used is, well, worthless no matter who gave it to me...

Display, but it needs to go with an autograph picture or something. I mean, he gave me his clubs, what's a signed photograph to him.

Use the club(s) for one round and maybe a range session, then talk about the 350 yard drives and hole outs from the fairway that I got with the clubs.
After that, I'd sell them in the market place! Ha!
