When I think a Par 3 course I envision small greens and shaggy fairways which would make an ace even that more challenging.

An executive length course with par 3 holes and mowed/manicured fairways and full size greens can be a bit more forgiving.

A hole in one is a hole in one, Par 3 course or not.

Heck, I brag about hole in ones when playing Tiger Woods PGA on the PS3!

Of course it's a hole in one. And it counts.

While we're on the subject of aces, how much do you count form or the way it was done?

I remember when we were kids we'd play this executive 9-hole course and on one par 3 that was about 135 yards long, a kid in the group in front smacked the ball with a 3-wood and basically topped it and the ball bounced and rolled all the way to the green, rolled across the green, hit the flagstick and fell into the hole.

Yes, it's a hole in one, but...

So the question is: "Would it matter to you how it got there?"
There are no style points in golf, a buddy of mine made one in the tournament this past week on a 138 yard par 3 that rolled 50 yards on a skinny shot. The tournament pays $50 for close ups, but they give $100 for HIO, he got the money and filled out the recognition certificate. As far as the OP, a par 3 course is a golf course so yes the HIO counts.

I had one on a par 3 course 3 weeks ago. The hole was a bit more that 150 yards. I counted it haha
