Default Impromptu OHIO THP Round @ Northstar
Four of us THP'ers met In columbus today for an impromptu round at a fun little place north of here:

http://www.thenorthstargolfclub.com/

the longest course in Ohio - the tips were 7571. They told Canadan and I as we were paying, "We tell everyone to play whites, unless they're single digits, then they can play the blues."

I told Canadan Id play the back tees with him since he's crazy long.
73.4/131 rating 7001 from the blues

76.3/133 from the black tips at 7531

Had some fun holes, 10 was a monster hole
with this drive from the blues: 537
had a bout a 20 yard window to drive through trees with a 225 carry.

As we arrive at the first tee box, there's a sign "written permission required to play from the blacks" hahaha

they are big on pace of play... clocks at each hole remind you where your group is.

Anyways, this was a pic of the four of us on the 15th Hole, Par 3 - 156 to center.

We all hit the green, and I had a 7 iron never leave the pin- sure looked a lot closer.

From the left for those that havent met us all:
Canadan, MikeDean, CG13, MarcW

Canadan has the sweetest drive you'll see around, its just a towering beast that carries 280 on the reg. His first par 5 was GPS'd to 309. crazy long!

anyways it was a great round of golf, rounds with THP'ers are always a fun way to spend the day. Can't wait to tee it up with ya all again real soon.

Great stuff guys, I love to hear about THP'ers playing golf. That pic makes me laugh though cause it looks like two dads have taken their little sons out to play golf.

I do like how the picture ended up being tallest to shortest pretty much, at complete random..

What a great day, And I'll summarize in list form because that's how I roll...

1 - The heat.. Holy crap, I know blah blah blah "try living in " comments will prevail, but I'm an Irish/Scottish Canadian and I melted in todays almost 100 heat... Started off the round REALLY strong too, but just faded slowly as the heat wore me down.

2 - Mike Dean is now officially known as Deano or Touchdown Deano for reasons he's welcome to post (or hell, wet Penta, dirty Penta, bye bye Penta... you know.. one of them anyways). This was my 5th round (or so) with Mike and he's great fun to play with, although you have to stop chirping your own golf game man haha!! (not quite Big Break Will Lowry, but still)

3 - MarcW is now officially known as Fairway or One Putt.. Dude didn't miss a fairway until I think 14 or so, and made some LONG putts to save par. Also, he finds a way to slide in some BEAUTY one liners that had me rolling at least a couple of times... How big was that WalMart again? hahahahaha!!!!! Very nice to meet you, and I hope we can tee it up soon!

4 - cg still doesn't have a nickname but he was my cart buddy today and I had a great time with him. Poor guy must have left his crayons at home though, because there was no drawing in that driver all day long!!! I couldn't believe how straight those suckers were flying. Also, the guy almost found the hole on photo shown above.. It was tracking nicely but just didn't have the legs to get there.

5 - This marks the first time that I've been whited out.. All these guys had white TaylorMade drivers and here I was messing around with my ratty tatty R9.. I was thinking I should have probably brought some whiteout just to fit in!!

6 - My putting was atrocious. 3 putted at LEAST three holes and really need to stop screwing around and track down the right putter for my game.. Maybe you need to bring that 001 next weekend cg!! I really need to get an insert putter onto the course to try.

7 - The mood was great all day.. Lots of jokes and laughter throughout. I really can't wait to get out there again with you guys.

OMG, that is frickin' funny, even though I think I was just made fun of

That was fun guys. Nice course, gonna have to play it at least once a year now, great guys to play golf with and nice hot weather. Thought poor Canadian Dan was gonna melt out there, little too warm for his Great White North blood.
Let's do it again soon.

hahaha yuss!!! I needed one of those beachside showers on the tee of each hole to cool down... Next time I'll smarten up and bring some hydration and an extra towel to cool off with.. I was regretting not bringing my rain jacket and umbrella halfway up there though, with the cloud cover, fog, and 75 degrees reading out on the car temp... Crazy how fast things change.

For the record, I cited the play it forward initiative to avoid playing 7500... That's just madness.

Had some fun holes, 10 was a monster hole
with this drive from the blues: 537
had a bout a 20 yard window to drive through trees with a 225 carry.
I have a bone to pick with this hole by the way... I hit a very solid shot down the left hand side of the fairway... About 289 on the GPS... Well, awesome, except I had to take a PW for my next shot because the hole DOUBLE doglegs and I had ZERO chance of getting anywhere near in play with a heavier club! I still can't believe we couldn't find your teeball there cg.. I swear a rabbit must have stolen it.

Hmm, I believe I parred that hole (from the non-superhuman tees)
