I purchased a combo set of TM forged irons a few weeks ago and have been working out a few bugs while getting used to them. Im still not 100% comfortable with the distances so I went out this afternoon with my GPS to measure each shot. I decided to use irons only since I was playing 9 and the goal was to track distances. Long story short I shot a 37 without ever pulling a wood/hybrid out. I hit every fairway and 8 of 9 GIR. This was my best and most consistent round all year.
-As an example: Par 4 350- I would normally hit driver/wedge but today I hit 7iron/9iron. -Another Example: Par 5 525- I would normally hit driver/3-wood/wedge but today I hit 5 iron/7 iron/7 iron. I am normally a very aggressive golfer and generally get myself into trouble trying to go for the green when I should lay up. I have seen other golfers play conservative and score low but I guess I never thought that it would work for me. Hitting my driver 300 yards is fun but shooting a 37 is way more fun ![]() |
