Very slight. That is why I ask about the glove.

I had a really interesting conversation with a rather large glove maker about this yesterday and found it fascinating (why people wear gloves, etc)
I'd say people wear them to get some extra grippage when it's really hot/humid or in damp conditions. That's why I started wearing them. THP convinced me.

Well, I'm a righty and I wear the glove on my left hand because the grip of the club is fully in that hand with my thumb down inside of my right hand, so the only thing really on the grip from the right hand is the fingers. I've tried playing with now glove but I get a little sore spot on my left hand without it.

1. Why do you do that? See #3.
2. What made you start doing that? See #3.
3. Did seeing it done that way on TV play any role in it? Yes.

[QUOTE=JB;638923]For those that wear a glove, you normally wear one on the opposite to your dominant hand. Three questions.

1. Why do you do that? So I can have a better grip with less pressure
2. What made you start doing that? The first time at range without one Blisters
3. Did seeing it done that way on TV play any role in it? No They take it off to putt I dont.

Might I add that I'm thinking about a second glove because my middle finger keeps spliting on the side.

I'm right handed. I've tried wearing a glove on my dominant hand and I did not like the way it felt. I wear it on my left hand for grip, I leave it off my right hand for feel. With as much practicing as I've been doing (don't believe anything High Equipment Maintenance says) I've been tempted to put a glove on, but I still think it sacrifices the feel I would normally get from my hands and fingers. I've resorted to using lots of sports tape. It's just a preference even if it's the norm.

No glove for me except for the cold windy winter months (dry & cracked fingers/hands) and then I am a Tommy Two Glover ole gray. I wear Titliest or Under Armour winter gloves.

I wear a glove, because if I don't I get a blister under by pinky finger, and tv or the pros had nothing to do with it, and I started doing it because the club feels more secure with then without

1. Why do you do that?
That's what you're supposed to do I guess.
2. What made you start doing that?
My uncle and cousin who first took me to play golf told me that, I didn't know.
3. Did seeing it done that way on TV play any role in it?
No

I wear a glove on my left hand. That was how I was taught. TV played no role in it.

I will say, however, that my left hand is more calloused (even with the glove) than my right (which has very little callouses). Thus, for me, it makes complete sense that I would wear my glove on the left hand (unless the glove causes the callouses).

Well, for me it is much less about what I saw on TV or how I was taught, it is a matter of pure availability. Only left hand gloves are offered in pretty much all of the golf shops I have ever been in. If I could find a glove for my right hand, I would wear it in a heartbeat along with a left handed glove.
