I've played there many times. I live about 15 miles from the course.
It is one of the most unique holes in all of golf.
Local reports say Duane Hagadone, the developer spent just over 1 million dollars to build this green alone.
It is an engineering marvel in the golf industry.
The green can be moved in and out from the shore with about 170 yards in distance change.
The island is built with a huge funnel at the bottom to catch all the water, chemicals, etc that percolate through the green.
This is all then pumped back to shore and into the water treatment system.
It really is a fun hole to play and I think it's one of the most beautiful in all of golf.

Here's a photo I took last summer when I played it.

I've seen multiple, pics, vids and stories about that course and green. It's certainly on my short list to play, just don't have another reason to get to Idaho!!! It would be cool to see the green changing yardages.

That looks interesting, and very expensive. I may have to make a trip up to Idaho to play that one day. I just wish there were other things to do up in that part of the country.

What about Amata Spring CC? They just ignore that course and say they have the only floating green in the world.

Here are some more shots of the course that I took last year.
The have a Uno do Mayo special again this year. (Yes I know it's supposed to be cinco but the weekend is Uno..the first)
The special includes a night in the hotel, 1 round of golf each, free tacos at the driving range and free tequila tasting stations spread across the course.
The wife and I did this last year and it was a blast! And, it's only $139 per person !

I played there last May. The green is pretty large and it is not the prettiest hole on the course. Two other par threes are far prettier and tougher as well.

Here is one:

Here is the other:

The main thing to remember there is you are playing at altitude, the ball goes a long way. For example, a par 455 yard par 4 playing into the wind I hit driver 8 iron to 20 feet but three putted then a couple of holes later at #18 playing down wind which is 487 yds from the back tee. I hit driver, pitching wedge to 7 feet. Of course I missed the putt!

There is another golf course, Circling Raven, which is also a lot of fun and only a short drive from the Coeur d'Alene Resort . Circling Raven is part of a property called The Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort. I don't think it is associated with the Coeur d'Alene Resort even though the names are similar. The casino is out in the country not really near anything else. And if you continue on south from Circling Raven, it is not that far to a Washington State course, Palouse Ridge, in Pullman, Washington. After you play there stop a half mile away and see the grizzly bears up close (through heavy fencing). I just found these things passing through, there is probably plenty of recreational things to do in the area but golf (and local beers) were my only objectives for that trip.

Haven't played there yet though it isn't that far away.

There's plenty to do in Idaho.

That'd be fun, I don't need reliable transportation to get there.
