All I'll say is l love playing golf with my Wife and Daughter. Some guys feel differently. I get to play more golf than I did when they didn't play, and it's easier to get away and play with the guys because my Wife doesn't feel left out. If you want her to take interest she's going to like the game more if she has clubs she can hit. That being said, my Wife didn't really play golf for years after we had our daughter. I can't speak to what will happen with a baby as we don't and aren't having kids. I will add that without women's clubs she's got no chance (unless she's got LPGA like swing speed). She needs women's flex shafts to have any chance. Also, if you do get her into it, I highly recommend a lady's golf ball for her. They aren't expensive, but the lower compression threshold makes a big difference for them. Good Luck! |

Oddly enough, today, despite being 38* outside, she decides she wants to go to the golf course and play a few holes. She's not even a golfer and she wanted to just go out and hit some balls!! (I would never go out in that cold a weather, but since she wanted to, I certainly didn't want to discourage it).

I noticed that Wilson also has a set of womens clubs in the $299 range that I know are sold at Dicks, when I was considering buying my fiancée the clubs before deciding she can use my old ones until she really commits to it or not. However I've seen them on ebay for $199. Something you might check out.

I love golf and I love other women learning to golf, so this is awesome! And a new baby, too!
I think getting a less number of clubs for her that are good clubs is a better choice than a whole box set that is not as easy to hit. I want to add that my daughter *had to have* Callaway FT irons when she outgrew her kids set. I told her I would not buy her irons that cost that much!! But Darren found a set on CallawayPreowned.com for a really good price (black friday special). So look on that site. I just saw some ladies Diablo Edge irons on there for less than $500. And our preowned set did not even look hit. The heads had a little bag chatter, that's it. |

McRock,
I wanted to share a link with you that may be useful as well. I had to purchase a replacement 7i for my set yesterday and I used Clubfinders to do it. I checked on my order and it shipped and is scheduled to arrive on Friday. While I was on their site, for kicks and giggles, I looked at the Ladies sets. It looks like they have quite a few sets very reasonably priced as well as lots of nice single clubs if you decide to go that route. So far, I've been impressed with the service from them. We'll see when I get the club but it looks like a good option, especially for a single club. |

Thanks MaryC. It's looking more and more like it will go that route since my wife is now asking me to take her golfing in the freezing cold. Yesterday, it actually snowed a little while we played. I may just buy a single club, and next time she wants to go out, I'll hand it to her to hit. I doubt she would notice that it's not my club. Hopefully, she'll hit it better, and then I can point out to her that it's because she hit a ladies club, not a forged men's iron that I have a tough time hitting.
