I ground but not for very long. I also make sure to put the ball a little off center from the sweetspot towards the toe. It has really helped me hit the sweetspot more.

I tried it after reading an article in golfdigest saying that it will help with grip pressure and such, though I thought it was the opposite. Seems like you had the same experience

I've tried hovering, just doesn't work for me. My driver gets placed on the ground at setup!

exactly, tension was derived from keeping the club aloft vs. letting it rest on the ground.

I have always grounded the club. The only place I don't is in a hazard.
Wait, you can't ground your club in a hazard?

I was doing the Happy Gilmore swing today and it was more consistent than either lol. Got a wicked video too.
Well don't talk about it if you're going to post it. Only Happy Gilmore and Padraig Harrington can hit that shot.
