Default Chicken Stick (for Nintendo Wii) Review
I was lucky enough to be selected to test out the Chicken Stick from a company called Bad Chicken, LLC. What is the Chicken Stick you ask? It is a great new accessory that pairs with a Wii controller to enhance your enjoyment of golf games on the Wii.

From the company:

The Chicken Stick™ is a Patent Pending golf club for use with Nintendo Wii® golf games. Fully compatible with Tiger Woods PGA Tour®. Length 24 inches.

Features:
* Substantial weighted feel — when combined with the Nintendo Wii Motion Plus® and Controller, the Chicken Stick™ is weighted to feel like an actual golf club, further enhancing the player's golfing experience
* Golf Pride® grips — this top-selling grip has laid claim to more major wins than any other grip company
* True Temper® shafts — widely used by golf pros around the world, these steel shafts are the top-selling shafts in golf
* Recommended Ages 8 & Up
* One year limited warranty
* Made in the USA. Nintendo Wii Remote and Motion Plus NOT included.

My Thoughts:

My Chicken Stick arrived a few days ago and I've now had the opportunity to play a few rounds of Tiger Woods golf on the Wii using this great accessory. The first thing you notice about this accessory is how much attention they paid to making this feel like a real golf club. The grip is a Golf Pride grip (standard size) and the shaft is a real True Temper shaft as seen in the photo below:

The feel of this accessory is what sets it apart in my opinion. I have tried other Wii golf accessories and they all invariably have large foam-type grips, are way to light, and just don't feel right. This accessory, when paired with a Wii controller, feels like a real golf club. I think this is the most important distinction between this and competing products because when you're using the Chicken Stick, you feel like you can actually groove your swing as opposed to other accessories that always made me feel like I was ingraining bad habits.

The Wii controller fits snugly into the plastic end of the Chicken Stick as shown below:

It is important to note that you need the Wii Motion Plus attachment for your controller for this to fit properly and for enhanced performance. This is one area that is sufficient, but I think could be improved upon. Because this club feels like a real golf club, I tend to swing it more like a real golf club than other accessories. As a result, I'm generating some club head (or in this case, controller head) speed which scares me considering it's not a fairway on the other end...it's my big TV! While the fit is secure, and I have not yet had any problems with the Wii remote coming out of the device, I still wi there was an additional way to secure the remote in the Chicken Stick (maybe an included strap?). I personally added a few rubber bands to my set up just for peace of mind.

Another great feature of this accessory is the thought that went into how you control the remote. As shown below, a ring is included just below the grip that allows you to control the remote and activate your swing.

This is great because you don't have to move the club around a lot to get ready to play your shot. Just pull the ring and off you go.

One more consideration (and this may only be particular to me) is that the room in which I have my Wii has a rather low ceiling. The Chicken Stick is more than half the length of a 6 or 7 iron, meaning that if you have low ceiling or lights on your ceiling, be careful (as I learned the hard way).

Conclusion:

If you play golf games on the Wii, this is a must have accessory in my opinion. Nothing else I've tried even comes close to simulating a real golf club like the Chicken Stick does. Give it a try and I'm sure you won't be disappointed (especially if you live in an area where, sadly, outdoor golf season is coming to end).

Let me know if you have any questions and I'll continue to post here as I continue to use and enjoy my Chicken Stick.

Thanks to THP and Bad Chicken for this great opportunity to test out a really great product!
