Quite a cool idea. Do you get to choose the holes to play off each? That would make it extra interesting, with a bit of tactics thrown in.

Nice. I may actually suggest this to my club, would make a good addition to the calendar, and we don't have many fun competitions any more.

How'd you guys split the holes? Blues from the par 3s and red from the 5s?

Not necessiarily. I played the holes from the reds that I thought I would do best from. And the blues on the holes I thought I would screw up on.

Default Red, White, and Blue
My CC has a tournament every year on the Saturday before July 4th and I am playing this year. The way they play is you play 6 holes from the reds., 6from the whites, and 6 from the blues. Does anyone else have a tournament like this that they play in?

Back when I had extra free time and money I would play with a group of friends at their course on Sundays a few times a month. These guys played together all the time at the same course so they always looked to make things interesting and fun. We we do that every once in a while just as our regular 18. We would either do red/white/blue every three holes or designate certain pars as red/white/blue. The course had 6 each on par 3/4/5 so it made it easy to break out equally.

I think it can be a lot of fun to do different things on the course and not always worry about playing your own ball for a score to turn in for the handicap. We would play shamble quite a bit, red/white/blue, skins only, match play 4 ball, just a bunch of different things to keep it interesting.

They use a point system. The team with the most points wins. 4 people to a team. They all play their own ball. I think bogey is 1, par is 2, birdy 3, under birdie is 5 but im not positive.
