Default Handicap Question
yeah - Net 2 (assuming a par 4)

Only really applicable when playing a match though

Edit: unless it was rated as handicap #1 or #2, then you'd get 2 strokes, again assuming you are playing a scratch golfer and they have to give you 20 strokes.

If it's one of the top 2 handicap holes you could possibly have a net 1 on it too, right? (Being a 20 handicap)

I don't know a lot about handicap scoring, but my guess would be in stroke play, if you are an 18 or higher you'd get a stroke every hole? And if you are a 20, you would get two strokes on the 1 and 2 handicap holes? Even if you get a birdie.

Just a guess.

EDIT: And I'm really slow!

Keep in a mind a 20 index may not get 20 strokes. It all depends on the slope of the course.

Now if your course HCP is 20 then you'd get 1 stroke per hole and 2 strokes on hcp holes 1 and 2.

Also, the stroke holes only matter in match play in determining if you win or lose a hole (or win or lose a skin if you play that way). In stroke play you just subtract your course handicap from the total strokes taken at the end of the round (if you shot a 92, subtract your 20 course handicap and you have a net score of 72).

You can't claim a birdie or an eagle just because you get a stroke on a hole. If you make a par on a stroke hole, it may be a NET birdie, but it's still a par for bragging rights.
