Default My Golf Lesson Today...From My 16 Year Old Son
I've been struggling with my ball striking as of late, so after I picked my son at school we went to our practice facility and hit the range (grass). He noticed a couple of things: 1) I wasn't keeping my head behind the ball at impact, and 2) I wasn't making a full finish.

He also cautioned me on swinging too hard, which I was doing. But, he then said "There are three kinds of swings. First, is swinging too hard. You know you do this when you lose your balance. Second, is being lazy and not completing the swing...slowing things down too much. Third, is swinging with purpose." He went on to explain making a swing with purpose is between the first two and always requires full finish. He told me to hold the finish after every shot to get a real feel for it, as well as keep my head back on impact. He put me in the full finish position so I could get a feel for it.

It made a very big difference. I was hitting the sweet spot and the sound at impact was "pure". The ball flight was a high, boring trajectory, and straight. It all felt very different, but the results were startling.

I still have a lot of work to do, but I'm moving in the right direction.

My son did a great job. :-)

ps: he didn't ask for any remuneration.

Very good instructions there and a must for good balanced ball striking! You coming to Florida this Fall Outing?
