Alright you guys. My local college, Georgia Southern University, hosts a college golf tournament every year. I try to go every year and I absolutely love it. I'm going to keep you guys updated. Practice round is on Thursday and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are the rounds. It is played at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga.

I'm going to try to make it out there all 3 days. On Friday after the early release I will go out there and walk around. Saturday maybe walk on the back or find a certain group I want to watch. On Sunday a couple of us are going to sit behind 6 and watch them hit on 6 and on 7. That way we can talk to some of the guys and just hang. I'm going ask SJB, TJ, and Trev if they want to sit with us. Spencer has already said he will.

Of course.....It's just my favorite hole on the course..... When the last group goes through we just follow them up to the clubhouse (because they start on 10) and we go up and watch the last couple of groups come up 18 and wait for the results.

I am a Georgia Southern alumnus ('75), but the Schenkel started several years after my time there, so I have never been. I played Forest Heights once as a junior, but as a student there in Statesboro I never got to play it - it was very private. I have gone back for some football games, but that also was not there when I was there - the stadium is just about where THE FLAME was located in my time....

Thats cool SAM.... I didn't know you were a GSU grad. I'm a huge UGA fan but the Eagles are up there. You need to come sometime. It is a great event. Very relaxed. Not roped off. You can roam where ever you like.

Well, the day came, and I found myself hoping the Eagles would hold their own, but pulling for UGA to win. Mighta been different if football was there at GSC (now GSU) when I was there.

It was a great tournament today! But i feel sorry for that poor guy who shot an 85... And I've been to the GSU UGA game twice and I don't know who to pull for either.

Hey guys..... I had a great time today at the Schenkel today and we had some good scores today..... The course played tough today and was kinda wet. I noticed that some of the rules officials were debating over whether they were going to let players clean their golf balls tomorrow.

You know Tcallaway.... I went to the tournament straight from school (we got out at 1 today) and well I didn't bring my camera. I can bring my camera tomorrow. I can take some range pictures, course, and players. I am sitting on a hole tomorrow so I can get pictures of just about everyone! I will do that tomorrow if I can remember.

I don't really have a favorite but if I had to pick one It would be a guy named Andrew Loupe.... He plays for LSU.... He shot -1 today and is in a T-20; The reason is last year I followed his group because I wanted to watch a young guy on the Georgia Southern team that was really good. Loupe was really nice to me, talked it up to me (which is one of the reasons I love college golf; it is much more relaxed) and gave me a ball. I followed him again today and I don't know if he reconized me or what but he gave me another ball and just made me feel special.... He is a beast. I will proboly follow his group tomorow unitl I get to 6 where I will proboly sit and watch the rest of the field go through. But I will take pics and post them..... Its such a nice course and great people behind it.
