Default To all you walkers
Where do you place your bag when you approach your ball? Behind the ball? Behind you? Infront of you?

I place mine slightly right of where I stand behind the ball. That allows me to visualize the shot and pull the club I want without any hassel. The bag is, however, in my sight when I go to hit my shot...

I use a cart, but I put mine in pretty much the same place as you. As you said, the clubs are right there and I don't have to make sure I've got it far enough away that it won't interfere with my swing.

I am a lefty. I normally walk up level with the ball on the right side if you were standing looking down the line of the next shot. I leave the bag a few yards to the right, check the Skycaddie, select a club and make the swing. The bag is behind me at address so I cannot see it.

This is not a hard and fast rule, I occassionally leave it in a different position if it is more convenient.

I used to always put it a few feet to the right of the ball until I realized that someone could accuse me of using it to line up my shots. Now I just put it a few feet back and to the right, it doesnt bother me if its in my sight.

Really? as I'm looking down at the ball, there is no way I can have anything in my sight.

I never really notice it, I focus on the ball. Now that I mentioned it, it will probably start bugging me.

usually behind. I hate having anything in my sight line.

shoulder injury may prevent looping. considering a push cart. but I get free carts at the palace so I use them for the most part.

my bag would be opposite my stance by a meter or 2.

I have a push cart and it's usually behind me someplace. I've never really thought about it. I do know that I have mishit after seeing it in my peripheral vision in the past. One of those deals i thought it was closer then it really was and it made me mess up.

I usually put my bag back and to the left of my ball. That way it is behind me and out of sight.

I position my bag so that it's a few feet to the right and in front of me a little at address. No real reason for it, just makes things easier for me.

I don't really walk much anymore, but when I did and at the range I generally set the bag slightly behind and to the right. It's in my view, but once over the ball I never notice it.

I have my bag on my push cart behind me so it out of my line of sight when I'm taking my shot!

Thats what happened to me that got me thinking about this thread. One of those shots where I guess the bag was a bit closer than I thought, and startled me on my downswing...
