Default Need some help choosing clubs
Okay, I have figured out from my "Catch 22" thread that we should start with a cheaper starter set. These are the two that I have found an am interested in.

Square Two by Adams Golf
Price: $199
She likes the looks of them plus if I buy it from where I found it for $199 I can use it as a tax deduction. Comes in other colors besides Pink

Wilson Hope Set

Price: $199 through a retailer but looks like they can be had for $100 on ebay.
Now don't get me wrong she supports finding the cure for cancer especially seeing how her mom passed on because of cancer (not breast cancer), but she gets "tired" of seeing the pink ribbon becuase there are so many different forms of cancer that could also use the founding. That was her only complaint against the hope series.

Does anyone have experience with either one of these sets?

Thanks for the help!

I'm biased, what can I say

Well, if she likes the Adams and not too keen on the Wilson set, I think you have your answer

Actually, I don't even use my Wilson cart bag that came with the set, I've switched to a TaylorMade back, but the clubs themselves don't really have the breast cancer stuff on them. Wait, I take that back, the driver and 3 wood have the pink ribbon on the head and I think there's a pink ribbon on the shafts? I got mine because I like pinks and purples

GG tested out a few of the Wilson Hope clubs. They were okay. I would pick the Adams if it were me, but either should work.

Cleveland Bloom Set obviously I've not hit them but my experience with Cleveland is such that I'd have to think they'd be worth a look. Here's the THP review

My buddies wife has a set of the Adams. She loves it. Says they're really easy to hit and it really helped her stay with the game since it was easier to get the ball in play with them.

My wife has the Wilsons, same exact set, they were given to her. She does not play golf but she has been to the driving range with me. She was hitting those clubs very well. She was hitting the Driver that came with it 175 to 190 yards. Hope this helps

Wow, I can't even hit my driver that far. Just once I was able to hit my driver 195 yards, but that was on a very good day

wow, 195 is good, I wish she would play because she is very athletic and she was hitting the ball very well. The putting was funny though. Then again, I like that golf is my getaway, I think she does too

Most women can't hit that far and all people - both men and women - tend to think they hit much further than they do. The average women drives 150 and I know everyone is going to correct me if I'm wrong, but the average man drives about 230. The best of all of my women golf friends is a 7HI and she averages about 220. How much carry did you have on the 195 and how much of it was roll? IMO - The only way to really improve in golf is to be realistic about what you can and can't do. Then you know what and how to really work on each shot.

Jacqui will usually hit them between 150 and 200, it all depends, but she probably hits 10 or 11 fairways a round. I'd guess her normal drive to be about 170. Her misses are usually not too bad. She has the occasional duff off the tee which brings the average down. Her longest is about 225. If she had a smaller chestal area she'd be able to make a better turn and get some more power.

A good pro who understands a woman's body and swing could work with her on that.
