Does your passion for golf have peaks and valleys like any relationship? Or are you as passionate today as you were your very first time?

I am TOO passionate, and that can be detrimental to my game. I need to lighten up and not be so wrapped up in the results. Radical acceptance would be a good concept for me to adopt.

Golf is definitely different for me now than when I first started out with it. I was probably more passionate/competitive in my early years than I am now. My present game is what it is, and some days are better than others. The one constant all these years is that I still enjoy the game, and the fun it provides when playing, or practicing.

No mention of who inspired this post????

Peaks and valleys here, but things may take away from golf passion such as not having the time to invest in golf, money, and other things as well. Golf for me can be at the bottom of my importance list for months at a time.

Let me think. Smallie? Gummi? Gasman? Harry? Duey? Bogey? Dyna? Ty? C-Tech? No clue. I can't remember who says what. I'm also convince some of you are the same person.

I still look at a round of golf as a big adventure every time I tee it up. The thought of a clean slate, unbound opportunity and a chance to take advantage of all of that is still there even after all these years.

Put another way, when I stop thinking of it that way, it will be time to hang up the spikes.

I posted before what happened to me when I stopped playing golf in my late 20's. I will never stop again as long as im able bodied to play. I am too competitive of a person and always have been to not have sports in my life that I can participate in. Golf offers me that as I'm growing too old for full contact sports and my body just doesn't want the punishment anymore.

I have peaks and valleys like others have written. Right now in a valley, as I am typically from Fall to Spring. I'm not yearning to play, even if the weather isn't conducive to playing. Too much other things are occupying my time that I'm enjoying. I'm sure once April comes around and it's sunny and warm here, I'll be ready to play again, with a lot of enthusiasm.

I always look forward to an opportunity to play, so I guess I would have to say my passion level is at least the same as when I started. I have had periods when I had this love/hate relationship and wanted a divorce from golf, but I kept coming back because of that passion.

If youv'e been told that "golf is all you think about" from your fiancee that pretty much speaks volumes, and she is a golfer !!! I believe that she regrets ever getting me back into the game. If my fianancial situation were different, I'd make sure we were both in an area of the country where we could golf year round.

It's still the be all and end all for me. It gets in the blood. I have friends who think I'm sad.

I love playing golf and my wife loves playing golf. It's not the most important thing, but it's up there! I have peaks and valleys - playing for over 30 years, you can't keep it at the top of the list all the time - but my wife, who has only been playing for just over a year still has the same love for the game (from what I can see).

Everything has peaks and valleys for me it seem's. I fish and hunt a ton, play pool almost everyday, golf several day's a week when possible and still find a little time to work, lol. I'll burn out on one thing for a week, hit the others hard and then go back. Just glad I never learned how to bowl.

I have been way more passionate lately than ever. I wish that I had been this enthusiastic when I was younger. I'd probably have a different profession right now.
