Default A Good Test of Golf Today
I played nine holes with two gentlemen who took extra shots and for the most part only took the ones they liked, talked on the tee, moved around on the putting green, took shots out of turn, etc.

I didn't say anything because I wanted to see how I would perform under those kind of distractions. I shot a 39, which is below my HI and was pleased, though annoyed at times with their antics.

It is a good test and it will only make you a stronger player in the long run. Great round.

Thanks JB, but I hope I don't have to play with those gentlemen again. Sometimes they even hit their shots simultaneously and it seemed like golf balls were flying everywhere. :-)

Excellent point! What if they weren't sober?

They were nice enough guys, just a bit...clueless. :-)

Played the other day with the worst golfer I have played with in years I think. The guy had this double chicken wing swing with an open setup, all hands and no shoulder turn on the takeaway and the downswing looked like he was trying to kill a bug with the club, slapping straight down at the ball. His swing did work great out of the bunker, his open face, all hands, slap down shot is a great technique for getting up and out of a bunker. He was in a lot of bunkers and hit into the center of every body of water within view in any direction off the tee. I bet he lost a dozen balls. It was fun in a weird kind of way.

And it is a testament to your skill as a golfer that you were able to focus on your own game. :-)

I have learned to play my game no matter what. Unless the guy is a talker and chatters too much that is the only thing that bothers me at all.

I played the final three holes of my round on Sunday with a guy my friend knows from his society golf. He caught us up (we were delayed on the next tee) and we invited him to join us. He then proceeded to shout at two young boys (maybe 10 or 11) who were taking a few seconds too long on the green (we're talking about an academy 9 hole par-3 course). Poor kids looked so shocked! If we'd been playing a members only 18 hole course i could understand his frustration but at a place where these kids (who were pretty handy) are learning to have some guy shouting at them must be a touch un-nerving. The kids were then held up on the next tee, which was level with the green we were on, were able to watch the bloke who shouted at them take 5 out of a bunker, karma methinks.
