Default So long putter
Wow! Almost the exact same thing happened to a friend of mine.

He and I were playing after work and we agreed to meet at the course. He was running a few minutes late. He calls me on the cell and proceeds to tell me that he had to go to the golf store to pick up a new putter after he broke his old one doing "batting practice" at the range.

Sorry about your loss.

That's hilarious!

Especially since it sounds like something that I'd do...

I have seen a guy do exactly this during a tournament once, we rolled on the green laughing.

The look on your face when it happened would have been priceless to see...

I agree. I mean I know to you it wasn't all that funny, but this is definitely one of those things that when you watch someone else do it, you can't help but laugh.

I found a broken off chipper head near the tee-box of a 155 yard par 3 two weeks ago. Unfortunately I missed the long-chip attempt that broke it...

That's why if I decide to keep a chipper in the bag it will be a Niblick. The Adams that I have (and my wife uses) has a hosel that will snap off easily if you take a good whack at a ball.

I saw this video and thought of this thread. Not exactly the same, but a funny situation with a putter in your hand.

I was playing with a friend and her putter broke on the 14th hole. She chipped in on the next three holes. It was amazing.
