Default Mr. Sun with a late arrival
It's a little nippy here in Cheeseland. 30* this morning at 7:30, windy, and generally cloudy. We (Wife, Daughter, and me) had an 11:40 tee time at a course we haven't played, but to where we're thinking about switching our membership for next year. We each nestled into a couple of layers of fleece and headed down to this course. The wind was whipping, the sun was not shining, and two days of steady rain, the course was soggy like Wonder bread in milk.

I don't think the temperature got above the low 40s with 15-20 mph winds. We made it though nine, but then pulled the plug. I struggled to 44, my 12 year old Daughter had an admirable 51 with two doubles and a quad, and the woman I think was my Wife, it was hard to tell under the fleece, scarves, and hat, picked up on a few holes.

We went for pizza and by the time we were done the sun was shining, the wind had died down, and the temperature was up at least 10*.

Just goes to show you. Not sure what it shows you, but I'm sure it does. We're going to give it another shot tomorrow on the home track. Forecast is about the same. It stinks the season is coming to an end. My Daughter is soooo close to a great round. She had some great bogeys today in brutal conditions. There was a two club wind on some holes, and the soft course added one more.

Good luck tomorrow. Because of the heat wave we are having down here, it is still crazy to me to think that it is that cold elsewhere. We are normally 10-15 degrees colder than we are right now. But its warm. Hopefully tomorrow you will have better luck and get in a full round.

Esox, you forgot to mention we also had snow flurries this morning. I was at the Madison farmer's market this morning and thought to myself as I stood their in my beanie and heavy winter jacket, "Im not ready for this...".

Yeah, we were in Muskego, and the snow stayed out west. Might see some tomorrow from what I understand.

Major bummer.

I love the Madison farmer's market by the way.

Snow here in Nebraska today, 1/2 inch or so. That's ok, we should see mid 60's next week, lol.

They are talking temps in the 50s here in Wisconsin for next week. This is nothing more than a cold snap. Our first frost of the season is normally around October 10th.

Well you guys enjoy your warm weather, we got 4 inches of snow here today. They even postponed the Rockies Phillies game today. It should warm back up a bit and maybe get a few more rounds in, but I spent today getting my duck hunting stuff together and ready for in the morning.

Very light flurries here this morning but nothing stuck to the ground. Drove to Dubuque to check out the River Museum & Aquarium & didn't see a hint of snow anywhere. Temps varied from 35º-42º.

Might play tomorrow or may just decide to not leave the house & watch football.

Kevin - I love playing golf when it's cold. For some reason, I play better. I'm visiting my parents and they just gave me big fuzzy mittens that fit over my Winter golf gloves to wear in between shots. They gave me a bunch of golf balls too. I should visit more often.

I'll be playing Monday, and Tuesday. We had a cold spell (for us) last week, but that is gone, and days are warm. I'll be in Texas during Turkey week. Hopefully the weather will be decent. Just as long as the wind does not blow, it is golfing weather.

No kidding. Im a snowmobiler, so I love snow as much as anyone, but Im not ready for lots of snow and cold until about mid December. That way, its just in time to put me in the Christmas spirit.

31 degress and sleet. My truck looks like a snowman, wth? Sounds like Colorado's in deep with the ice, 40 to 50 car pile-up tonight.

Florida or Arizona sounds better every day!

Now, if you get those handwarmer thingys from WalMart to put in the mittens, your fingers should be toasty warm.

Weather was awful here today, 80 and sunny. Yuck.

We had those going today. Actually the sun made the day pretty bearable in the afternoon. Yesterday they really came in handy.

Elmo Tickle hands are already out for Christmas shopping!

Mid-40s this morning. The Kid insisted on wearing shorts and then complained his legs were cold.

I have them - my parents gave me a bunch of them too. I've learned you have to open them an hour before you go so they're really warmed up. We were talking about how forward we're looking to Winter golf when we played yesterday.

I am looking forward to winter golf in Tucson as well. We will have to wear long pants by January and I'll start the mornings with a windshirt or vest, but I'll have to take it off before 10AM. Jeez, makes me cold just thinking about it.
