Yeah 165 is a lot. There probably becomes a point during the 165 ball bucket that things become counter productive. I should probably stick with 70-100 at the most.
I usually get the 70 ball bucket, but am considering cutting back to the 35. Quality over quantity. I need to practice my preshot routine and with the 70 bucket, I think I rush it to get done.

I am with you. I may give the smaller buckets a shot and work on the other things such as pre-shot routine and lining up properly, etc... I think working on that stuff may be just as important for me at this point. Make every ball count!!!

$11 for a large bucket of 65 balls. That's enough for me.

All I can hit for free with the membership I have at the club. $8 for 90 balls at the driving range across town. $7 for 60 balls at the driving range near downtown where I sneak off to on my lunch hour once in a while.

The All-Weather/All-Night (well, almost all night) range near me charges $13.00 for 135 balls.

Granted, I'm hitting off of mats, but their mats are very "grass-like" (there are actual grass "blades") and they'll take a "thunky" wedge shot with no problems at al and I like the fact that I can go there as late as 11:00 PM if I want to.

So all things considered, just under $.10/ball is not bad considering the convenience of having this place only ten minutes away.
