I think we all want to improve, but go about it differently. I wish on stars and eyelashes, but am not very good about practicing. Lefty has a detailed practice plan and I know others set goals. Basically, I go out and play all the while hoping for the best. I'm very optimistic about golf. What do you do? Are you someone who practices, set goals or just wings it on the course?
Any more, I mostly just play. I will sometimes practice my chipping, but that's about it. Time on the range has never proved to be productive for me... just makes my back sore. If I'm going to get a sore back, then by playing a round I'll at least have a score to show for it.

I'm like Rick the range doesn't help me I practice a few shots then end up hitting balls till I'm sore.As for as the putting greens go there's not a hole on the coarse as flat and with no break. (just my coarse tho).
I guess I do most of my practice on the coarse

When I'm in "full golf mode" (maybe next year) I generally practice more than I play. I get to the range at least twice a week, a putting green at least once a week and I always warm up by hitting balls before a round and I usually hit a post-round bucket to either affirm whatever I did well that day or to address whatever I did poorly.

When I was a true "golf bum", I was practicing at least 4 nights per week (after work until dark) and playing 36 to 72 holes on the weekend. Those days are pretty much over unless of course I can get the numbers on the ping pong balls to match up with the ones on the ticket, in which case I'd be "bumming it" again in very short order.

Usually I won't go to the range unless I have a problem, or to warm up. one round a week I will play 2 or 3 balls.

I never practice and play once a week. I play golf for fun and relaxation. I enjoy hanging with my buds, drinking a little beer and hitting a few good shots.

I am just a player. I don't practice much at all. The only time I really practice is in the early spring when I am trying to get my swing back over the winter break. I am lucky to play 1 or 2 times a month, so if I actually have the time, I will get in 18. If I play 3 or 4 times in a week or two the scores really drop. I feel I am at a really good place in my game, all I need to do is get out there more.

I practice a lot, working on my swing, learning and getting comfortable with different shots around the green, and also keeping my putting in tip top shape.

I usually play 3 times or so a week now that school is in, and that's to keep my mental game, and course management in a good spot.
