Default Golf Lingo
All this talk of sandbaggers reminded me of a story. Years ago, I was on an elevator with my boss and a co-worker who was trying to suck up to the boss. The boss and I were chatting about golf when the suck-up looked at him and said "I didn't realize you were a sandbagger Jack.". I started to laugh and explained what a sandbagger was to the suck-up. Our boss looked at him, said I was right and walked off the elevator. Lesson learned - when you don't know the lingo - keep your mouth shut. I've heard people on the course misuse lingo, but that was the funniest.
