Default If you were a 34hc........
Would you enter in a tournament ?

Tommorow and Sunday is a 2 day Senior event, at a local course.
net and gross scores. (not 100% sure what that means)

I'd hate to be last place... or be the only 34hc there.
It's not a hard course overall.

Sure - why not. Just have fun and don't worry.

I must be tired - I saw the thread title and thought you wanted to talk bras.

I think you meant 34HI.

i definitley would, it would most likely be a good time if you enjoy the game

gross/net

means that the tournament will have two winners:

the lowest score shot

the person with the lowest score when there handicap is subtracted from it....................which is good for you, if you have a good day!

As long as I was put in a group with similar skills, I'd say go for it.

The only thing that would worry me is being grouped with some low handicappers and messing up their rhythm or slowing them down.

Ahhh, gotcha.

We can discuss that too, but we should probably switch to a different forum first.

ok, here is my plan,
get there early, hit one small basket of range balls with the driver.
if I hit them good, I'll play.

Just dont want an off-day with my driver, the hazard drop strokes will kill me.

Been there; done that and finished last. Get in the tournament and have a great time. The next tournament I finished higher and kept going up. This game is all about challenging yourself and what I have noticed is that everyone playing used to be a 34 HC. As my father used to say: The only thing that beats a "failure" is a "try". Get out there and try. Remember your opponent is the COURSE not someone in a Champoinship flight.

Well, I am officialy pissed off.

I got there early, and after asking to join, was told "we have 40 players, and that's a perfect number for me".

Then was told that if there was no show, then he would "let me know"

well, there was a no show.

but was not offered the chance to play.

So, I do feel hurt by this snub. And its not like they dont know me....this is the guy who I took lessons from, and I have played and practiced there a lot.

Right now, I dont fell like dropping a dime there ever again.
The course costs more to play, and it's not even that good, in fact people call it the Goat ranch.

Just glad to have you all hear to hear my gripe.

I'll go find a place to play this evening

of note though, it closes at 5:30... on a weekend... twilight rates start at 2pm. hmmmmmm. double hmmmm.

lordy, what will they do at 5-ish? come run me off the course ? boy, would'nt that just be the icing on the cake.

WOW!!! Sorry to hear the run of bad luck today. Getting stiffed in that tournament was unfortunate. Well get back in the game tomorrow and just keep looking for another tournament to play. I am sure there will be some coming up soon.

LOL, turns out the course's phone recording was old - for Winter times.

Better than that, the cost was 1/2 that of the web sites listed cost!

ended up playing with a freind, we had not played a round together since last year. a foursome total.

Course had some fun challenging holes, but it sure was hot felling yesterday, no shade anywhere. Plus we were slow, they like to drop/re tee their bad shots..........once in a while ok...but...when 2 people do that

I shot to every bit of my 34 had to take a few too many drops, darn it.
On the bright side, made 2 pars.

This course is all of 10 minutes away from home, so I will go back soon.
