Default Hardest Club in the Bag to Hit
With all it's loft and the ability to cut through heavy lies and it's metal head I would think that the utility club would be among the easiest. But not for me. I struggle with that club and have come to appreciate the humor in the term "futility club."

What do YOU find to be the hardest club in the bag to hit?

I took the hybrid out of my bag and put my 2 iron in. I had much rather hit long irons than hybrids. I keep trying, but this is the third hybrid I have tried with no success.

Long irons. Hybrids work better for me. Longest I carry is a 6-iron now.

My 5 iron and I aren't on good terms at the moment. I can't keep myself from over swinging, and chunking every shot. So what should fly 175 or so, is only making a little over 100 (which I can do with a wedge)

Most I see find hitting the 3 wood, hybrids and a 60* wedge the hardest.

For me,I'd have to say the 3 iron.Thank Gawd,It's no longer in the bag

For some reason right now it’s my hybrid as well. I am thinking about going to an extra fairway wood instead.

Lately for me it seems like I have a new "hardest club in the bag to hit" every week. This week it's the gap wedge. Last week I was having trouble with my approach shots so this week I worked with only wedges at the range. Nothing worse than hitting a 280yd. bomb down the middle of a par 4 and then blowing the approach shot and ruining your hole/round.

I'm with JB - my driver. It got a bit better when I had it cut down, but we're not on good terms right now.

3-wood is always a problem. Hybrids work fine and I'm getting along famously with my R9 460.

I can usually work out a problem during a round when a club fails...except the driver. It's on or it's off and it seems it's entirely up to the club on how it's going to be.

My 3i is the one I have the least amount of confidence in. 2 irons don't scare me at all. Love that club. Now in terms of miss hits, it would have to be my putter. I miss more shots with my putter than any other club in my bag.

The driver. My game begins and ends with it. If I'm driving the ball well it's 300+ and I always play well. When it's going crooked it's likely to get ugly really fast. My swing:

Right now my 3 wood and I are not connecting. I have been switching my 3 wood a few times over the last few rounds because I can't find on that I like. My driver and putter are my favorite clubs. Even though the driver doesn't go as far as it is suppose to. Especially since everyone on forums hit the driver 280-300.

I'd say my 56* wedge right now. I do this little pop up move and sometimes skull the bull. I absolutly hate the thing, I gotta work on it.

My 58° LW. Because of the radical rake of the club face, it takes very little vertical error in my swing to go from a well hit 60 yard shot to a skulled 150 yard wormburner or a chunked 20 foot sod-cutter. For the record, I'm more likely to hit it fat than thin, and I still usually hit it ok. It was worse when I carried a 60°... the 58° is my upper limit.

I'd have said long irons for my first answer, but I guess they don't qualify since I no longer carry them.

For me, the biggest hate-hate relationship has been with my 5 iron. Every now and then I might hit a good shot, but most of the time I can count on gouging a chunk of turf out of the ground and needing a shorter iron for the next shot about 25-50 yards closer to the hole.
