The Tourist isn't nearly as bad as reviewers would have you believe. I'm convinced the writer-director must have trashed film critics in general and now they're getting revenge because the near universal panning this movie is getting is pretty odd. If you look on rotten tomatoes, it has a 20% rating with critics but 78% of the general public liked it.

It's lighthearted fun. Nothing great, but not bad at all. It was just marketed badly. I went in expecting some serious spy shit and instead found a throwback rom-com caper.

It doesn't deserve a best picture nomination, but there are far more scandalous nominations than The Tourist. Like...Burlesque. That was the worst movie I have seen in years. SO BAD SO BAD.
