It's not a bad idea in theory. It looks to have a darker side which I like.

Personally, I've got no interest in seeing it. I mean it's fine if they want to make a prequel I'm just not going to watch it.

I have read a sequel to the wizard of oz, and it was good. I can only imagine that the story of how Oz came to be would be interesting.
