Haha, Well I used to hate widescreen because it reminded me of my friends shitty TV that so old the picture started to shrink, but now I love Widescreen. Most of the time I don't even realise that it's there until like half way through the movie. It gives you the perspective of everything, where the Full Screen doesn't.
So Widescreen for me. Later oN *...SlasH...* |

If it's a widescreen so you actually see the full frames- then excellent.
But if it's wide screen and those bars are covering up part of a frame I know exists- like in Dazed and Confused a more evident one to me- it makes me despise Widescreen even more in addition to the fact that the rectangle view makes me cringe- I like more of a square please. |

I will not vote. Because I watch alot of movies, new and old. And I want it in what it was originally shot in. The DVD for "Jason goes to Hell" is widescreen, but it was shot in full screen. Don't belive me? Go rent the full screen vhs and look at the scale Jason's heart sits on towards the beginning, you can read the numbers. On the DVD, they are almost completely choped off.

Widescreen is far better. I work at Movie Gallery and we do have some people who complain about it but Id say thats like 1 in 10 people and there mostly older. I hate Full Screen to death. I want to see all of the picture not some crap version and if you enjoy the film the black bars shouldnt even be noticable unless you have mental problems.

I'm a fan of widescreen. I always look for the widescreen version of a movie when I'm buying it.
I guess everyone is used to the full frame version, but I prefer widescreen because you get the whole picture. I think in the future they will be pushing a more wide screen aspect (16:9 I believe) on the newer TV sets and it will be all the better for these DVDs. |
