Default Hitler-lovin' Jew-hatin' Designer is gay and 'gipsy'
LOL And what did Hitler do to gays and gypsies???

Galliano is gay and ‘gipsy’. What does he think Hitler would have made of that?

It is said that a bias cut can hide a multitude of sins – and John Galliano is king of the bias cut all right. This man had produced absolutely gorgeous clothes and mesmerising spectacles, suitably theatrical and edgy.

Now he has been dismissed from Dior because of his anti-Semitic rants for which he will also stand trial.

A fashion crisis all right! For what is at stake ‘is the entire future of haute couture’.

These people really don’t get it, do they? When rumours started of his rudeness, fashion people said to each other that this man was a shy, gentle character.

When a video was produced of him spewing Hitler-loving misogyny, they said it could have been faked. They talked of the intense pressure a designer is under and how Galliano was ‘an unlikely racist’.

These people who are trained to see style are not stupid but seem unable to cope with substance abuse, or indeed substance of any kind.

It is quite clear that Galliano had said such things before as there had been other complaints. It is quite clear he has been drinking and out of control for some time. Long-time admirers all claim to be terribly shocked.

This is odd because, though I don’t inhabit the fashion world, I remember ten years ago being told he was completely ‘crazy’. Very quiet one minute, his ‘friends’ would appear and he would come back into interviews talking ebulliently. What does this perhaps suggest?

This public unravelling is horrible but still the fashion world is in denial and mourning for its fallen idol. Now might be the time for sober reflection not more witless gushing.

No amount of talent excuses Galliano’s remarks. Was he surrounded by those who thought that anything he said was funny or absurd? Oh yes! Sex And The City stylist Patricia Field rushes to defend his rants as ‘theatre’. She says: ‘They don’t even see the farce in it. Fashion people who know him have not come forward.’

Perhaps, Patricia, because some things are indefensible.

Just because someone is a fashion designer doesn't mean that they are gay
