Default Limbaugh: Media Elite Using Charlie Sheen For Amusement
I agree that the media loves self-destructing celebrites more than anything else. I get the impression that they look at the Charlie Sheen case more as a SNL skit rather than someone who needs some serious help. It's the Left that are supposed to be compassionate, not us Conservatives. We're mean. While Charlie's problems are self-induced, that doesn't mean his family and those close to him shouldn't at least try to help him. I don't think anyone is doing that right now.

RUSH: Back in the days before the French Revolution, the aristocrats, the elites of the day, you know what they would do to amuse themselves? They went to the insane asylums throughout the country. The aristocrats and the elites went to places like Charenton and other lunatic asylums to observe the wackos and to be amused by them. Today they simply interview Charlie Sheen. He goes home today and he finds his kids are gone. They took away his kids. His publicist has left. I see this guy being interviewed on TV and he makes a lot more sense than some of the interviewers do. No, I'm not defending Charlie Sheen. I'm just fascinated by how it's a story. It really is, the media is doing this just to amuse themselves. I mean people love looking at a human train wreck. Oh, and this guy's willing to climb into the engineer's chair each and every day and head on down the lunatic tracks and take with him whoever wants to go along and chronicle it. I really am stunned as I think about this peace prize being offered on the come. Nothing's real. Nothing makes any sense.

Most folks see Charlie Sheen, much like Sarah Palin, as a narcissistic, self-obsessed person trying to fill emptiness with attention. But unlike Palin, he's not afraid to do unscripted interviews and thus he's blanketing the airwaves with his version of reality. That's the only reason he's getting more airtime that she is this week.

Rush can blame the media elite (which, oddly enough, hes a part of) all he wants but theyre not the only ones fueling Charlie right now ... how about the idiots who signed up (in record numbers and in record time) to follow him and his crazy addicted a$$ on Twitter? I dont know about "amusement" but he's certainly being used for ratings. You'd think, as the smart guy he believes himself to be, Charlie would realize that.

When the attention stops, he might actually seek some help.
