shaykh abdul hakeem murad with all due respect is a pure modernist who has questioned the rulings of the scholars on many occasions including the issue of the niqab which he is a vocal critic of, the penalty for apostacy, declaring the british raj as darul islam etc. He should pay more heed to his own words than anybody else. is the sheikh a proper learned man with an ijaza or does he have a university degree in islamic studies or self-studied?
you should know sheikh qardawi is never labelled a 'modernist' yet gulen is. even though both hold pretty much the same opinions on music.
