The other day I was in Tescos - it's post Isha - I'm wearing my topi - Another Muslim wearing tope - young guy - comes up to me and says . of course I returned the greeting. He asked my name, I asked his. He said 'Mahdi' -and just...paused...

For the briefest moment - my whole life just came into focus and I was like 'OMG I am meeting the Mahdi!' I quickly added to that thought.... 'In tescos!!'..
I quickly then thought 'Wait...what?!' - The poor guy - he just saw me with a hyper confused look on my face for about 3-4 seconds till I realised it would be highly unlikely the Mahdi would introduce himself to me.. In Tescos.

To cut a long story short, I'm ready for him inshallah! But when he comes, that's up to Allah swt!

its hard to say I'm ready, dont mind my brother this is like you are satisfied with the level of imaan.

He will appear when Allah wills it.
For sure when Allah SWT wishes, but there are signs mentioned in the Hadeeth. i wanted to know that Hadeeth in this discussion..

Appreciate if my Brothers here share that..

“The life of my ummah will not exceed the year 1500.” (Suyuti, Al-kashf `an (fi) Mujawazat Hadihi l-umma al-Alf, al-Hawi lil Fatawi, Suyuti. 2/248, commentary by Ruhul Bayan. Bursevi. (Arabic) 4/262, Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Kitab al-Ilal, p. 89.)

Allah will raise for this community at the beginning of EVERY HUNDRED YEARS THE ON E WHO WILL RENOVATE ITS RELIGION FOR IT. (Sunan Abu Dawud)

Bediuzzaman states that the mujaddid of the 1200s was Mawlana Khalid. (Barla Letters, 120) In the fourteenth Islamic century, the Risale-i Nur (Bediuzzaman's collected works) served this purpose, as follows:

"Exactly after a century, the cures of the Risale-i Nur appear all around and serve to the very same purpose… With the meaning fortified by the clear expression of the hadith, it is our conviction that, in terms of reviving the rel igion, the Risale-i Nur is in the position of a mujaddid." (Barla Letters, 121)
Bediuzzaman gives the good news that the mujaddid of the 1400s (Hegira style) will be the Mahdi:

THEY SUPPOSED A FACT THAT WOULD OCCUR 1400 YEARS LATER IN THE FUTURE OF THE WORLD to be close in their century… (The Words, p.318)

The facts revealed in the Damascus Sermon that glance at the destiny of the Islamic world after year 1371 [Hijri]… Yes, maybe not now but 30-40 years later, in order to equip science and true arts (knowledge acquired through arts, science and skills) and benevolence of civilization and those three forces in full, and in order to overcome the nine obstacles, sent inclination for investigating the truth, moderation and love for human beings to the fronts of those nine foes, insha’Allah will demolish them all AFTER HALF A CENTURY. (The Damascus Sermon, p. 25)

IN SEVENTY ONE [1371 Hijri], THE SUN BEGAN TO RISE or will rise. Even if this is only the initial redness in the horizon, IN THIRTY TO FORTY YEARS THE SUN WILL BEGIN TO RISE [this is the second enlightenment that spreads after the initial redness in the horizon]. (The Damascus Sermon, p. 23)

People will gather around Hazrat Mahdi (as) in the year 1400. (Risalat al-Khuruj al-Mahdi, p. 108)

It now occurs to mind that if each of the letters "mim" and "lam" bearing the gemination mark are counted as two, THE PEOPLE WHO WILL DISPERSE OPPRESSION A CENTURY LATER FROM NOW, CAN BE THE DISCIPLES OF HAZRAT MAHDI (AS). (Rays, 1st Ray, p. 605) (The Ratifying Stamp of the Unseen, p. 90)

The timeline where Imam al Mahdi had to be born according to Bediüzzaman:

1371 + 30 = 1401 = 1981 = 1401 A.H.

1371 + 40 = 1411 = 1991 = 1411 A.H.

Bediuzzaman wrote the 1st Ray in 1936

Bediuzzaman Wikipedia:
Bediuzzaman Said Nursi Was the Mujaddid of the 13th Century
Said Nursî, (1878) – March 23, 1960) was an Muslim Kurdish scholar who wrote Risale-i Nur Collection, a body of Qur'anic commentary exceeding six thousand pages. He is commonly known as Bediüzzaman, which means "the wonder of the age". He was born in Nurs, a village in the Ottoman Bitlis Province in eastern Anatolia, in the geographical region called Kurdistan by the Ottomans. According to Said Nursî himself, he was a descendant of prophet Muhammad saaws.

The minor signs have occured and they are continuing. Major signs like the lunar and solar eclipse in ramadhan have to occur.

Salam,

Important to not look too much into this topic or start relying on the Imam (a.s) to fall from the sky and fix all of our problems as an Ummah.
We have many hadith which mention the coming of Imam Mahdi (a.s) so it is not something we brush underneath the carpet.
We also must realise that the coming of the Imam or knowing about him does not necessarily change the way we live our lives.

we have no choice, in the present times where there is so much Fitna, oppression, blood shed we can only wish that this Prophecy come into existence ASAP.

Trust me, you don't want to be around when the Mahdi and the Dajjal appear, it will be the biggest Fitnah this nation has ever known and most Muslims will be shoveled into hellfire, even the most pious among us may go to fire... May Allah keep those times away from us, in the Shafi`i Madhab we say in the tail of each Salat: "O Allah I seek refuge in you from the torment of Hellfire and the torture of the grave, O Allah I seek refuge in you from the Fitnah of life and death and the evil Fitnah of the Dajjal."

I agree, I will surely envy the honour of those who get a chance to see Imam Mehdi (ra) or Hadrat Isa (as)! But to live in such times, It would be too troubled a time. Related to this discussion:
"The Dajjal will not appear until the people become negligent in talking about him, and until the Imams abandon talking about him on the Minbars."(narrated in Majma Al-Zawaid) I don't know how to really interpret that. On one hand 'we' are talking about it. On the other hand, how much do a billion Muslims think about Dajjal in the modern day? I don't know.

Lol you legend thinking he would be greeting you in tesco's I know the feel sometimes a lot of brothers are lost in their own imaan level of thoughts so much they usually don't have a clue as to what is happening around them and what they are saying and then they realise oh hang on that don't make sense

Salam,

If we look at islamic history, we can see the ummah been through ups and downs, but managed to bounce back strong .
For example, when salahuddin liberated Al Quds or when the Monguls ransacked Baghdad.

O you who have believed, if you support Allah , He will support you and plant firmly your feet. (47:7)
