Default Why Saudi Mufti crying on TV?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=US&h...VPs&nomobile=1

This is a famous Mufti on Saudi television who started crying after a brother from Somalia asked for a fatwa on whether or not his fast is accepted if he has not got enough food for either suhoor or iftaar.

Salaam

This is not true. Please see here for the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WuwW6JkVPs

The Shaykh's love for the words of Allah and His Messenger drove him to tears when he saw them being disrespected.

Nonetheless, may Allah aid our Somali brothers and keep them in our duas.

pay attention dear English speaker brothers! Don't share it with out knowledge!
have knowledge before acting and speaking!
in this video, there is no connection with Somaila, the reason why shaik AbdulAziz Fawzaan (hafithahullaah) cries is about one filthy poet. in his poem, messenger of Allaah (sallallahu aleihi wa sallaam) was humiliated and belittled.
why people were deceived?

Please accept my apologies.
cheerleading of who?

if you mean saudi, it just bothers me that people waste so much time opposing saudi when 1) mursi and turkey and other good governments are working WITH saudi as an ally so there is a chance they are a source of good 2) there are much more necessary causes we should be working on like the burmese muslims or those in assam or syria 3) tehre are muslim rulers much worse than saudi, in fact 90% of the muslim rulers are worse than saudi and 4) it seems brothers have sectarian or racist reasons for opposing saudi so because I see this attitude as deeply flawed and counter productive i feel i must speak out. we're all in pretty much agreement on how good gradualism and turkey and egypt is and how terrible assad and uzbekistan is, and middleground people like indonesia and malaysia we seem to give the benefit of the doubt, so its only saudi taht seems to get a rough deal and bad assumptions from so I speak on what I feel brothers are making a mistake on. Perhaps as their relationship with turkey, egypt etc develops people will go more lenient inshallah and not oppose something khair inshallah. remember saudi are financially and vocally backing the syrian rebels so they are doing something good to change the political landscape of the ummah in a good way inshallah and they were the first country that mursi visited. I would equally defend turkey or other good muslim lands but they dont get attacked much here so there is no need for the most part. I just dont want to see people throw a spanner in the works of muslim nations that are trying to do khair.

But if your apology was sincere then no worries, we used to get on well so was a bit shocked at some of your comments lately and I always prefer for things not to move in that direction with anyone im on good terms with inshallah sister fillah

Saudi Arabian is not a race, so racism allegation is nonsense. Most Arabs are as Anti Al Saud as any Pakistani, Indian, etc etc.

I know you have some loyalties toward them as you are Salafi but then remember this ayah.

"O ye who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest ye swerve, and if ye distort (justice) or decline to do justice, verily Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do." [An-Nisa 4:135]

Hope we can get along as before..you're one very reasonable brother and always looking to understand and reach out to other Muslims regardless of their sectarian beliefs. May God protect you and your family. ameen.

people criticize saudi arabian government not arabs or saudi people. there is a huge difference between the three.
if someone were to say all arabs and all saudis are evil then that would be utterly wrong.

ameen jazak allahu khair sister

its not that i have specific loyalty to saudi though, i have loyalti to the ummah. if people were anti turkey or tunisia id be having the same arguement. saudi is doing a lot of good including supporting the syrian rebels with weapons. i think they are a force for good inshallah and the ikhwan think so too inshAllah.

I have detected some anti arab racism here btw

its not my being salafi that causes me to defend saudi, its my desire to be just and fair and saudi has a lot of good things, its not perfect of course

I wouldn't say Saudi meddling in other countries internal affairs and arming the opposition groups to go to war as particularly good. But generally i got what you're saying and you're right about the anti arab vibes.. can't believe i almost forgot, won't name names but you are right 100%.
